“And There Is Nothing New Under the Sun”

How unbelievable can the USA be. After the embarrassing and shameful evacuation of Kabul, [it was Winston Churchill who said after Dunkirk. “ wars are not won by evacuations”] the USA is facing another crises. A much more serious one, in an area where in the past, origin of many international conflicts commenced, inclusive of two world wars, wars of Western European countries against Czarist Russia, and more [12 such conflicts are listed only on the 21st century].
Of course, the USA is making threats [as they did against the Taliban], but nothing else. Russia has 106 thousands military personal facing Ukraine, from the east and from the south. Not a single American or Nato solder is visible. It is not that the USA did not see the coming, as William Taylor, former US ambassador to the Ukraine, conformed. Yes, weapons are powering in, but the army of Ukraine will not be able to save Kiev, even with such military help. And although the USA paid a price in 1961-1962 when solving the “missiles crises” with Russia and Cuba [the secret agreement to remove missiles launchers from Italy and Turkey, and Fidel Castro actually asked Nikita Khruschev for Russian support] America demonstrated its military might against Russians military ships. Not today, not in The Ukraine.
And like Adolf Hitler in 1938 before and during the Munich negotiations [following which President Roosevelt sent a congratulatory note to prime Minister Neville Chamberlain commanding him for the successful outcome of “peace for our time”, another demonstration of American ‘understanding’ in foreign policy], while the USA is negotiating, Russia is “negotiating”. The USA will not fight, neither will Europe. And as Ukraine lost in the past one portion after another to Russia, and nothing - actually, nothing – happened, not too much will happen now. When the “civil war” developed in the Ukraine to which Russia “contributed” so much, nobody broke the Russian stick. After all this civil war developed following the ousting of a pro Russian president Victor Yankovitch in February 2014, the forming of Dinestsk people Republic one Russian puppet, and the Luhansk People’s Republic, another Russian puppet.
The USA is going to show the world once again, that foreign policy is always its biggest failure.
It is not surprising that now, when all eyes are directed at Ukraine, China is escalating its position vis-à-vis Taiwan. It will take the Chines army a day to conquer Hong Kong. Will the Western world fight both China and Russia? Russia and China found a common enemy, USA and Nato, who will avoid at all costs one conflict, and and definitely two.
And there are others who take will advantage of of the situation. Iran will lift its head, and will be supported by both Russia and China. Who knows what will be the reaction of North Korea?
Why did this come about? Because the USA did nothing but “negotiate”. Negotiations means time, time is the most important element required by the opponent. So negotiations with Russia and Iran got us to where we are now.
A former Secretary of State, who negotiated the first Iranian accord, asked “What do they think, we are idiots”? the truth is. Mr. Kerry. Most of us do.
