President Obama’s statement that he will consider the
Russian’s proposal to keep in trust Syria’s chemical weapons, is
stunning. The president should know that it is Russia that helped Syria
build the military infrastructure, inclusive of the chemical
infrastructure. Russia was supported in its proposal by Iran,
another peace loving country. Obama is copying the Munich agreement with
one major difference. Edvard Beneš of Czechoslovakia
thought that France and England were allies. Obama should know that Putin
is developing the New Cold War. Entrusting the chemical weapons of Syria
to Russia is probably one of the most irresponsible moves ever taken by any
American president.
