Shame on you England - Financial Times - September 1st 2013

Shame on you England

The Middle East is a strange place. The only stable place in the Middle East is Israel. That is why Israel has to be condemned whenever possible. As history will testify, President Eisenhower threatened with sanctions, Israel, France and England, in the Fall of 1956, following the Suez operation, while he was utterly silent at the same time when the Soviet Union invaded Hungary. Like the US, England will never forget to condemn Israel for another house in a disputed territory. Alas, will always adhere to nonsense declared by the other side [ask Abu Abbas if he really wants Israel to exist. Oh sorry. Do not bother asking him. Just listen to his senior officials in Al Jessirah] England will readily boycott goods manufactured in the West Bank, although the manufacturing of such goods are the source of the "bread and butter" for the Palestinians in the area. So, against the "Jewish House in Judea", England is strong and determined. How impressive. But when chemical weapons are used to kill over a thousand men, women and children, England is crippled. Oh, yes, it will condemn, but do nothing to save the Syrian people from another round of  attacks. [I forgot, the Syrian ambassador was uninvited to the last royal wedding. Now, that will bring down Basher Assad]. But at least White Hall is consistent. England did a lot to save Egyptians from one side or another, or the South Sudanese when they were slaughtered by Sudan, or when millions were killed in one place in Africa or another.

Judea and Samaria

As an Israeli, I am proud of being more honest. Yes, I do build in the West bank, and I pay salaries, and national insurance to the Palestinians in the neighborhoods. There are an equal number of Arabs being treated in the Jerusalem Hospitals as Jews. And yes, Israel is the only country in the world that actually treat Syrian wounded, in its hospitals.

So England, do nothing in Syria, do nothing in Egypt, do nothing to save people who are slaughtered, just talk and talk and talk. Oh yes, and do not forget to boycott Israeli goods because they are manufactured by Arabs in Jewish settlements. After all, what are a thousand lives in Syria compared to an entire  house in East Jerusalem?

Hypocrisy? At its best. In a way only England can know. Go for it London.
